Client:
Major Healthcare Company
Challenge:
One of our largest healthcare clients faced a unique problem. One of their
subsidiaries in Puerto Rico, required a contract help to comply with the
HIPAA regulations as well as implementing a new Healthcare Management System.
The real dilemma for the client was the lack of potential resources available
on the island, resources with the level of expertise required to satisfy both
HIPAA regulations and having the ability to assist with a large system
implementation.
Solution:
Segula rose to the occasion by marshalling the necessary recruiting and
administrative resources to satisfy the various business and technical
requirements for both concurrent projects. The unique challenges of
conducting business in Puerto Rico, were overcome by our corporate back
office staff and our recruiting team. Importing talent from the states
to the island proved to have its own set of problems in terms of housing,
transportation and logistics.
The first 7 contractors recruited from the states were high level project
managers capable of writing a thorough and logical project plan in
conjunction with the local client management and staff. Once the project
plan was agreed to by client management Segula began recruiting and placing
as many as 24 technical resources on the project. This team worked for
almost 3 years on the projects.
Results:
With Segula"s assistance the client subsidiary was fully compliant with the
HIPAA regulations and successfully implemented the new managed healthcare
system to be used by their HMO.
